The mission of the Essex Fire Department is to provide the highest quality fire protection, emergency medical services, fire prevention, safety education, community services, and mitigation of emergency and non-emergency incidents for the citizens, businesses and visitors to the town of Essex. Our service delivery shall be continually enhanced through training, education, planning, and teamwork. We will safely achieve our mission while being mindful of the fragile environment in which we live and at all times strive to remain fiscally responsible through the effective and proficient use of all resources available to us.

Fire Department News:
Firefighter John Orr's son recently participated in Cub Scouts' Pinewood Derby competition. His car was our very own Engine 4!
Essex Fire Department's Engine 4 is a 1996 Pierce Quantum that the department purchased used in 2001. It has a 750 gallon water tank, 5 gallon class A foam tank, and a 5 gallon class B foam tank. It also has a 1500gpm pump.
